The Links, Incorporated is an international, not-for-profit corporation, established in 1946. The membership consists of 14,000 professional women of color in 281 chapters located in 41 states, the District of Columbia and the Commonwealth of the Bahamas.  Links members contribute more than 500,000 documented hours of community service annually.

As the result of a long existent interest in The Links, Incorporated, a group of women formally organized in 1968 to explore the possibilities of starting a chapter in Knoxville.  In October 1969, The Nashville (TN) Chapter graciously agreed to serve as the sponsor, and the petition to organize a chapter was approved in June 25, 1970.  The Knoxville (TN) Chapter, The Links, Incorporated was established November 14, 1970 with the induction of seventeen charter members.

The Links, Incorporated programs provide enrichment experiences in five specific programmatic areas focusing on the arts, youth services, national and international trends, and health.  Projects are implemented through strategic public information and education, economic development, and public policy.  For more information on our national organization, go to www.linksinc.org.
